Getting HighBy Paolo Hewitt
Whats the Story?: A follow-up to "Getting High", charting the progress of the pop group, Oasis. The author presents a diary of the group on tour, interviews with all five, and an examination of Noel Gallagher's lyrics. There is also coverage of Liam Gallagher's arrest for drug offences, and the brothers' marriages.
What the People say: This is one of the best books I have ever read. Extremely interesting, and reveals aspects of the band, previously unknown. This is a book that goes deep into the minds of the band, especially Noel Gallagher, and revelations about him intrigues you,and glues you to the book. Also the overall life of this band is revealed, and how they pas-time, their interests, the ups and downs. A great book, recommended to everybody, both devoted fans, and people who just enjoy their music. Brilliant.

Whether you like the terrible twosome or not, this book is an indespensible account of what rock n roll's all about. Hewitt is a writer who uses concise, clearly defined reportage to get the points across. He is never judgemental and like Stanley Booth he sits back and lets the events unfold. Anyone serious about their music should own a copy of this excellent book. It is going to become a classic.-Libby Anderson
What OFG says: Well personally anything with Oasis on the in and it is a great book to me, but even this book made me wanna run and hid. Its great book for hardcore fans for tibits and quotes, though does not hold a flame to its brother "Getting High" also by Hewitt. 'Getting High' showed and up and down journay of a making a rock n roll band, Forever the People, is a long hazy trek through the drug filled medium toned Be Here Now tour. The book never seem to make a point to where its going, sometimes even the text seems 'oh well lets get on with it'. Forever the People is a forced book put out to captailized on Oasis' fame. On a high point it does have nice little story about Liam and field with sheep. Its a must only if your walls are papered with Oasis. 2 stars out of 5.
